An arrow cues an ear; both then beep different counts. Count the cued side, ignore the intruder. 🎧 headphones essential.

The beep must clearly jump from your left ear to your right.
Your first split finds your level: the ears converge on purpose — hitting your ceiling IS the measurement. You can't fail a calibration.
